Pregnant or planning to be
This is easy, No. All forms of fasting involve stressing the body. A body in stress is less fertile. The female body needs at least 22 to 25% body fat to carry a healthy infant to term. In addition, fasting will release toxins and heavy metals that have been stored away. This process can take up to a year. I was unable to find a definitive source for guidance if you are already fasting and wish to become pregnant but think at least 6 months without fasting is likely safe to begin.
If you have already had your baby and are nursing, which is ideal for the baby’s nutrition and microbiome, then fasting is also a big no. It is not advised at all.
The remainder of the food plan, the food, is absolutely safe and recommended. Your microbiome will become the baby’s microbiome. Low inflammatory and nutritious foods are exactly what the baby needs. So please do get off the SAD (Standard American Diet) and take advantage of all the cooking methods and recipes.
