Thoughts about Human Nutrition

You can eat whatever you want. There are no “food police.” But what will happen if you do? I’ll use the analogy of a high-performance car. Most performance cars are designed to run on 91-octane gasoline. They are built for 91-octane gasoline. It’s more expensive, but it gives the engine the right fuel. What if you decided not to use 91-octane gas? There’s no “pump police” watching your selection. You could use the less expensive 87-octane gasoline, and your car would probably run. However, over time, problems would arise, such as an expensive breakdown or loss of warranty coverage. Your body is the same. You can feed it whatever you want. But if you feed it high-quality, nutritious, anti-inflammatory food, as Dr. Dan suggests, you’ll avoid illness and hospital visits. You can spend a little more on food and a lot less on medicine, doctor visits, and surgery. You can also stay active longer. If you choose pizza and other non-nutritious foods, your body will do its best, but it will eventually break down. You can expect physical and mental decline, chronic illness, and a social life consisting of doctor visits and bottles of medication. The choice is yours. You can eat whatever you want and get sick, or you can feed your body the food it needs to be healthy.
